How to Change the Power Steering Fluid in a Honda
Changing the power steering fluid in your Honda when needed helps prolong the lifespan of other parts of the vehicle's steering system. Power steering fluid, like other types of fluids, breaks down sometimes and must be serviced. Pink is the desired color of power steering fluid, so if frequent use has caused it to become dirty or a brown color, it must be changed. You'll need to purchase enough fluid so it measures up to the correct level on the steering fluid dipstick.
Instructions

1
Open the hood of your vehicle.
-
2
Locate the steering fluid cap under the hood. If you're having trouble finding it, consult the owner's manual of your specific vehicle model.
-
-
3
Unscrew the steering fluid cap. Assess the color of the fluid.
-
4
Replace the fluid if needed. First, remove the old fluid by inserting the fluid vacuum into the reservoir. Suck out as much of the steering fluid as possible.
-
5
Add fluid to the steering fluid reservoir. Measure the fluid levels on the dipstick. If fluid falls at or above the "FILL" line your Honda now has enough fluid. Add more if necessary.
-
6
Replace the cap and close the hood of the car.
