Skype is a free communication tool used to make phone calls over the Internet. A Skype installation may add tools to your Internet Explorer browser, mostly in the form of Phone Number Recognition, or PNR. PNR will automatically detect phone numbers on a website and give you the option to dial them immediately using Skype. Some users may find this intrusive. You may uninstall this feature using Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explorer by double-clicking the icon on your desktop or locating it through the Start Menu.
Click the Skype icon on your Internet Explorer toolbar, located under the address bar. If you are unable to find this icon due to having too many icons, click the arrow located to the right of your icons to display the remaining icons.
Select "Remove Skype add-on for IE" from the drop-down menu. The add-on will be automatically removed from Internet Explorer. Restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.
