How to Sync With Outlook Without Admin Rights

In Windows Vista and Windows 7, Microsoft included a security feature to help fight against unauthorized changes to your computer system. Before installing a program or working with any sensitive computer files, the administrator is required to approve the change by clicking "Continue" on a warning dialog box. If you wish to sync Outlook to a device without this inconveniencing you, you can disable this feature called User Account Control (UAC).

  • Click the "Start" menu on the task bar and then click "Control Panel."

  • Click "User Accounts and Family Safety" followed by "User Accounts." If you are connected to a network domain, click just "User Accounts."

  • Click "Turn UAC On or Off" and uncheck the box to disable UAC. Click "Continue" when prompted.

  • Reboot your computer.

  • Sync Outlook with your device. Follow the instructions in the manual of the device with which you want to sync Outlook.
