Save

The recovery CD is provided with a computer to reboot it to its factory settings. To begin the recovery process, the computer must read the CD before it reads the hard drive. Once the computer reads the CD, the rebooting process can begin, allowing your computer to function as originally intended.

  • Insert the recovery CD into the computer's CD drive, then turn off the computer.

  • Allow the CD to boot up by pressing the computer's power button. By default, computers will read an inserted CD before it reads the hard drive.

  • Press "Escape" on the recovery CD's first screen.

  • Select "C:/" as the primary drive letter.

  • Name the computer whatever you want and click "Next." The CD will install and set up the operating system to the computer's hard drive. A prompt will display once the setup has completed.

Tips & Warnings
