How to Print to Scale in Autocad 2007

With the AutoCAD 2007 application installed on your computer, you can create two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings. Printing out a drawing with the AutoCAD 2007 software is known as plotting, and before you begin the plotting process you can change any settings in the page-setup manager to meet your preferences. For example, you can use the Plot Scale option to determine the scale of the drawing that is printed out. The scale is the size of the drawing, and you can choose to scale to fit in order to make the drawing fit the entire printed page.

  • Open the AutoCAD 2007 file on the computer that you want to print from. Click the "File" option from the top toolbar menu.

  • Select the "Page Setup" option and then click the "Modify" option from the first dialog box that appears.

  • Click the "Name" option and select the printer installed on your computer that you want to print from. Select the "Landscape" or "Portrait" option from the "Drawing Orientation" section for how you want the drawing to print out.

  • Select the portion of your drawing you want to print from the "What to Plot" section and then select the paper size you need from the "Paper Size" field.

  • Click the "Scale to Fit" option from the "Plot Scale" field or select a type of scale you want to print at. Click the "OK" button and then click the "Close" button.

  • Click the "File" option from the top menu again and then click the "Plot" option. Your drawing will then print out on your printer.
