How to Recycle Ricoh Cartridges

Save

Ricoh printers, copiers and fax machines contain a replaceable toner cartridge that not only holds toner but also metal components that are harmful to the environment. If sent to a landfill, toner fragments can enter and contaminate the water table and the metal components can harm the soil. One way to keep the cartridges out of landfills is to recycle the cartridges using Ricoh’s Toner Cartridge Return Program or through a service that specializes in disposing of the empty cartridges.

Things You'll Need

  • Heavy duty plastic bag
  • Replacement cartridge box or cardboard box
  • Shipping tape
  • Toner Cartridge Return Program pre-addressed shipping label or blank shipping label
  • Internet connection
  • Internet browser
  • Printer

Boxing the Empty Toner Cartridge

  • Place the empty toner cartridge in a heavy duty plastic bag. Place the bag in the replacement cartridge box or a cardboard box large enough to accommodate the toner cartridge.

If you don’t have the replacement cartridge box or a cardboard box, or don't want to mail in your empty cartridge, complete the steps in the “Dropping Off the Empty Cartridge at a Ricoh Sales Office" section.

  • Seal the box with shipping tape. Place the Toner Cartridge Return Program pre-addressed shipping label on the cartridge/cardboard box. The pre-addressed shipping label is postage paid.

If you don’t have a pre-addressed shipping label, write on a blank shipping label the following address:

    Ricoh Recycling
    2051 Meridian Place
    Hebron, KY 41048

  • Take the box to your area post office or mailing center for mailing.
