How to Unlock a 1997 Saturn Radio Code

Save

Most 1997 model-year Saturn vehicles are equipped with anti-theft systems that are connected to the factory-installed radios. The system disables and locks the radio when it has been disconnected from the power source. The radio can be unlocked by entering the code that came with the car when it was new. If you no longer have the unlock code, you can contact a Saturn or General Motors dealer to have them look it up.

Things You'll Need

  • Anti-theft unlock code
  • Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition switch to "On" without starting the engine.

  • Press the radio power button to turn it on. Wait for "LOC" to appear in the display.

  • Press the "Hour" or "HR" button in the clock settings controls.

  • Press the "Hour" button repeatedly to scroll through the digits until the first two digits of the code appear on the display.

  • Press the "Minute" or "MN" button repeatedly until the last two digits of the code appear on the display.

  • Press the "AM/FM" button to finalize the code. The radio is unlocked and ready to use.
