How to Make My Own Custom Yugioh Dueling Play Mat

Save

Yu-Gi-Oh! card game pits a player against an opponent, with each looking to build the strongest possible deck of cards to enable them to win a battle. Decks contain monsters, spells and traps, all of which can be used to deal damage to the opponent. There are specific locations that cards must be placed in when played, and using a Yu-Gi-Oh! gaming mat makes it easier to keep track of what cards go where, as all the locations are labelled.

Things You'll Need

  • Poster board
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! cards
  • Marker
  • Art supplies (optional)
  • Cut out a rectangle from the the poster board that is at least 20 inches by 9 inches. You can make the mat bigger if you want more room between the cards or more room to design, but this is the minimum size to be able to easily move cards around the mat.

  • Arrange the Yu-Gi-Oh! cards on the poster in two rows of seven cards each.

  • Trace around the cards when you are happy with their spacing, then remove the cards so you have 14 outlines.

  • Label the top right outline "Graveyard" inside the outline.

  • Label the bottom right outline "Deck Pile" inside the outline.

  • Label the five middle outlines in the top row "Monsters" either by writing it inside each outline or writing it over the five outlines and drawing a bracket from the word around the five outlines.

  • Label the five middle outlines in the bottom row "Traps and Spells" either by writing it inside each outline or writing it below the five outlines and drawing a bracket from the word around the five outlines.

  • Label the top left outline "Field" inside the outline.

  • Label the bottom left outline "Fusion Deck Zone" inside the outline.

  • Use art supplies to create a design on the poster if desired.
