How to Stop an AirCard From Disconnecting

Save

If the settings on your computer's network connections are not adjusted properly, your AirCard may disconnect from the Internet under certain conditions. These conditions arise when your computer automatically shuts off your network to save power. The network adapter is what the AirCard uses to connect to the Web. Adjusting these settings will stop your AirCard from disconnecting during your Internet usage sessions.

  • Click "Start."

  • Click "Control Panel."

  • Click "Network and Sharing Center."

  • Click "Change Adapter Settings."

  • Right-click on the icon for your AirCard. Click "Properties." Click the "Configure" button, followed by the "Power Management" tab. Clear the checked box next to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." Click "Apply." Your AirCard will no longer disconnect you from the Internet, unless you manually do so yourself.
