Uninstalling your iTunes means you will not be able to update or add music to your iPod.

Having too many programs installed on your computer can affect its performance and speed. If you don't have an iPhone or iPod anymore, or haven't used it in some time, you may want to consider removing your iTunes software. Uninstalling your software will require more than just deleting or removing the desktop icon: You will also have to manually uninstall the program from your computer's control panel.
