How to Mount Sights on a PSE Bow

The PSE compound bow is a rugged and durable bow used by many hunters throughout the country. This bow, once purchased, needs to be tuned for accuracy. Sights also need to be installed and calibrated. The sight is a critical component of the PSE compound bow for novice shooters, though some experienced archers may opt to use the bow without the sight. Installation of the sight needs to be made level, and in line with the shooter's eye.

Instructions

  1. Peep Sight

    • 1

Insert the peep sight between the string halves. Slide the peep up the string to your preferred location. As you draw the peep up the string, aim for the optimal position which is in line with your dominant eye.

    • 2

Wrap the serving around the string on the bottom side of the peep.

    • 3

Wrap the serving around the string on the top side of the peep.

    • 4

Cut the serving hose length so that--at a full draw--the hose becomes slightly taut along with the bowstring. Slide the serving hose onto the peep ensuring that it covers the rod completely.

    Bow Sight

    • 5

Locate the sight mounting holes on the bow. These will be a line of holes above the grip.

    • 6

Select the holes that allow the short sight pin to be viewed through the peep sight at the top.

    • 7

Screw the sight into the holes with a screwdriver.

    • 8

Place the bow into a bow vise and secure it in an upright, level position.

    • 9

Place a level on top of the sight and check that the leveling bubble is centered. Loosen the screws and maneuver the sight into a level position if needed, then retighten the screws. Tilt the bow at a forward angle, then check the sight and riser to ensure they're both level. Tilt the bow to the opposite direction, then check in the same manner.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ensure that all screws are tight and double check your sight leveling.

  • Never point a bow and arrow at anything that you do not intend to shoot or kill.
