This is a great possession trick to know when playing ultimate or 500.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Position yourself so that the disc is level with your eyes at it comes within reach.
Step2
Bend your elbow 90 degrees.
Step3
Squeeze the four fingers of your tipping hand together tightly.
Step4
Point your fingers toward the sky.
Step5
Thrust your arm up to meet the disc.
Step6
Hit the disc solidly in its center with your fingers. Depending on the angle of your wrist, your middle and index fingers will normally make contact with the disc.
Step7
Follow the flight path of the disc. Usually, after being tipped it will rise up a bit, then fall quickly to the ground.
Step8
Catch the disc before it falls to the ground.

Tips & Warnings

  • As long as you keep your fingers flexed, it won't hurt to tip the disc.
  • When you tip the disc close to its center, the disc will rise and fall in a more predictable manner.
  • In a crowd, you may have to out jump others for the disc. The tip comes in handy, especially if you direct the disc to a particular area off the tip.
