How to Save URLs in IE7

How to Save URLs in IE7 thumbnail
Save your favorite websites with Internet Explorer.

Remembering the URL of all the interesting websites you find online is a difficult task. Rather than trying to remember a URL, save it as a "favorite" in Internet Explorer. The websites you save are accessible in one common location known as the "Favorites Center," which is located on the Internet Explorer toolbar. Add, delete or rearrange the items in the "Favorites Center" to keep the list updated for quick access to your favorite websites.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Internet Explorer 7, then go to the URL you want to save.

    • 2

Click the "Add to Favorites" icon, then click "Add to Favorites" to open the "Add a Favorite" window. The icon is a gold star with a green "plus" sign and is located on the toolbar near the top of the browser window.

    • 3

Type a name for the saved URL in the "Name" text box, then choose a folder for the saved URL. Click "Add" to save the URL to the default folder, select a folder from the "Create In" drop-down menu or click "New Folder" to save the URL to a different folder.

Tips & Warnings

  • Press the "Ctrl" and "D" keys simultaneously, rather than clicking the "Add to Favorites" icon, to save the URL directly from your keyboard.
