How to Refill Vivera Ink
Replacing HP Vivera ink cartridges can get expensive. A good alternative to buying new ink cartridges is to refill the cartridge with an ink refill kit from your local computer or electronics store. These kits will come with a syringe that is filled with either black or color ink. By dispersing the contents of the syringe into the cartridge, you will effectively refill its ink bank and have a fully functional ink cartridge.
Instructions

1
Open the printer and remove the latch that secures the cartridge to the unit. Gently lift the ink cartridge away from the printer's body.
-
2
Open your ink refill package. Turn the empty ink cartridge upside down and locate the small filling hole. Insert the pre-filled color needle into the filling hole. Insert the needle far enough to feel a bit of resistance. This is the sponge that will soak the ink. Gently pierce the sponge and insert the syringe's contents into the sponge. Make sure to be gentle or else you risk expanding the sponge, which will result in the ink cartridge bleeding all over your printer and computer paper.

3
Fill the sponge with the ink so that the sponge is moist. Do not fill the cartridge to the brim because the ink will spill all over your printer once you re-insert the cartridge into the printer.
-
4
Clean the filling hole of any residual ink. Take a paper towel and press it along the filling hole to absorb any excess ink.
-
5
Flip the ink cartridge over and push it into the printer's cartridge bay until you hear a distinctive click. The printer will automatically recognize the ink cartridge and its new ink levels. Print a page to ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed.

Tips & Warnings
If you have the manual that came with your HP printer, you can use it as a guide to refilling your ink cartridges. The ink refill kit will also come with comprehensive instructions on how to refill your cartridges.
Refill the ink cartridge as soon as its printing colors start fading. Refilling the cartridge before it is completely empty will ensure that the chamber does not dry out. A dried out chamber will not be able to absorb the new ink properly and will cause clogging.
