How to Write a Thesis About Guillain-Barre Syndrome in Children thumbnail
Guillian- Barre Syndrome affects the nervous system.

Guillain-Barre Syndrome, or GBS, in children is a serious condition that affects the immune system and nerves. This condition causes the immune system to destroy the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord, which leads to the inability of the nerves to transmit messages to the brain. Symptoms of GBS include weakness, tingling in the legs and exhaustion. Serious cases may even lead to paralysis. There are many things about GBS that could be researched for your thesis, including treatment, causes or diagnosis of the syndrome.

Instructions

    • 1

Narrow down the topic. GBS in children is too broad. A thesis is an argument or a hypothesis. For example, you may come up with a hypotheses stating that GBS is caused by viral infections.

    • 2

Collect data on your hypothesis. Research studies showing links between GBS and viral infections. Read articles from medical journals addressing your topic.

    • 3

Create a one- to two-paragraph abstract stating the purpose of your paper and the major points you will be making. This will also serve to keep you organized and help you avoid straying off topic.

    • 4

Create a table of contents for your thesis paper. This will also help you stay organized while writing.

    • 5

Begin writing an introduction. This is the time to explain what GBS is. Inform your audience of the symptoms and treatments and give a general overview of the condition. Use research done by others for this section.

    • 6

Decide on the research you will conduct. Select your research subjects and obtain their permission to include their information in your paper.

    • 7

Write the "Methods" section of your paper. Describe the methods you used to conduct your research on GBS. Include materials used and the procedure you followed to conduct your study.

    • 8

Write the "Results" section of your paper. Describe the results of the studies you conducted or the results of the studies you researched. Include data such as charts, graphs and tables.

    • 9

Write your conclusion. Restate your hypothesis. Show how your findings from your research support your hypothesis. You can also write your recommendations for further study. Include works that you may have used to support your research. Include a works cited page and any appendices to showcase data you collected.
