How to Hear Music Through Headphones

You can listen to music through your headphones in private by connecting it to a computer system.

Headphones are a useful tool to listen to audio in private, without disturbing your neighbors. If you use the computer a lot, you can use headphones to listen to music on your computer. You can listen to any music file or audio video on the computer with headphones, all the while your neighbors and surroundings are not disturbed in the slightest.

1. Locate the headphone jack of the headphone. The headphone jack is the metal end of the headphones.

2. Locate the headphone-jack outlet on your computer. It is usually located on the computer tower or in the computer speakers.

3. Insert the headphone jack into the computer headphone-jack outlet.

4. Ensure the computer's sound is functional. Click the desktop's "Start" button, click the "Control Panel" and select the "Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices" link. From here you can toggle volume, mute and sharpen sound.

5. Play your music. You should now be able to listen to the music through the headphones.
