How to View SMS Messages on a BlackBerry 8300 Series if You Lost Your Trackball

The trackball is the primary means of navigation on the BlackBerry 8300 series phone, but if you drop or damage your phone you can easily lose your trackball. Without the trackball, you can still navigate your phone with the built-in shortcuts in the operating system. You can still use the keyboard to access the features like the SMS messages through the shortcut features.

Instructions

1. Press the "Alt" button to display the BlackBerry applications page.

2. Press the "M" key to display the Messages menu.

3. Press the "Alt" key and the "S" key at the same time to view the SMS messages.

• Eventually, you will need to replace your BlackBerry trackball to use the entire potential of the phone. If your BlackBerry is under warranty, contact your mobile service provider for further information on how to replace it.
