How to Manually Update Turbo Tax State

Update Turbo Tax State by downloading the updated state program.

Turbo Tax State is a companion program that works with Turbo Tax. It allows you to transfer your federal information to the state program so you do not have to fill it out again. It is user friendly, and works to get you the biggest possible tax refund. Turbo Tax no longer offers updates for Turbo Tax State, but there are still ways to manually update the software and continue using it to file state income taxes.

Instructions

1. Sign into your Turbo Tax account using the link in the resource section.

2. Download the state purchase found in your account by clicking "Download," and save it to your desktop.

3. Double-click the saved file on your desktop to reinstall the updated state program.
