How to Calculate the Number of Cobblestone Pavers Needed
When surfacing an area with cobblestone pavers, the number of stones needed can climb from the hundreds into the thousands, depending on the size of area being covered. For a consistent look, as well as a smooth paving project, you don't want to run out of pavers mid-installation, or spend unnecessary money on pavers you don't need. To prevent this, you need an accurate estimate of the number of pavers your surface area requires. A few simple calculations and some careful measurements will ensure that you get enough pavers to do the job at hand while saving every penny possible. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Measure the length and width of the paving area using a measuring tape.
-
2
Multiply the measured length by the measured width to calculate the total area requiring coverage. Add five to 10 percent to this total to account for waste produced by cutting cobblestone pavers for corners or edges.
-
-
3
Measure the width and length of the cobblestone paver. Multiply the two figures to determine the area covered by each paver.
-
4
Divide the total area of coverage by the area of the cobblestone paver. This figure is the number of pavers you should buy for your project.
