How to Disable the Seat Belt Chime in a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer

Seat belts have been tested and proven to save people's lives.

The 2005 Chevy Trailblazer is equipped with a safety belt sensory system that allows the vehicle to identify front-seat passengers who are not wearing their seat belts. When the driver or passenger sits in the front seat without the seat belt latched, the Chevy Trailblazer's safety belt sensory system will chime at a rate of about 6 seconds every 30 seconds for up to 5 minutes. Disabling this safety feature in your vehicle requires no mechanical work.

Things You'll Need

• 2 seat belt extenders

Instructions

1. Park your vehicle and remove the key from the ignition.

2. Insert the male end of the first seat belt extender into the female end of your driver's side safety belt.

3. Insert the male end of the second seat belt extender into the female end of your front passenger side safety belt.

4. Cut the excess strap material from the seat belt extenders for comfort. Your 2005 Chevy Trailblazer seat belt chimes will be disabled.
