How to Uninstall Norton From a PC
Norton is a family of products that Symantec developed to help consumers troubleshoot their Windows systems. The family consists mainly of several security products, including Norton 360, Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus. Symantec features some handy utility products as well, such as Norton Ghost and Norton Utilities. You can use the Norton Removal Tool if you wish to uninstall any or all Norton products from your PC.

Click on the Resource link that matches the version of your Norton product. For instance, click the Norton 2003 link if you plan on uninstalling Norton Internet Security 2003.

Follow the instructions on Symantec's website to download the Norton Removal Tool. The site includes important instructions on how to back up your product key as well. Click on the download link that matches your current operating system to download the correct version of the Norton Removal Tool. Save this executable file to your desktop or any familiar location in your hard disk.

Double-click the Norton Removal Tool file you just downloaded to run the wizard that will uninstall your Norton products. Follow the Norton Removal Tool instructions on your screen for complete uninstallation. Restart your computer when prompted.

Tips & Warnings
If the first three Resource links no longer work, use the fourth Resource link to see the main Norton Removal Tool page. Use this link if you want instructions on how to uninstall older Symantec products as well, such as WinFax.
If you already backed up your product key and you are using Windows XP or newer, use the fifth Resource link to download the Norton Removal Tool directly. As of October 2010, the tool uninstalls a wide range of Norton products from 2003 to 2010. Check this link for updates on future Norton products.
Do not run any Norton products while the Norton Removal Tool is active.
