How to Clear the Search History in Ask Jeeves

Search engines maintain a history of search phrases.

Clearing a history prevents other users of the same computer from seeing your work. Ask Jeeves allows users to enter a question in a search box and locate Internet results related to that question. Like many search engines, Ask Jeeves maintains a search history, which displays the questions that have been entered recently on a particular computer. If you share a computer, for example in a school or public library, and don't want others seeing what you've searched, clear the search history.

Instructions

1. Go to the main page of Ask Jeeves. For American users, this page can be found at ask.com.

2. Access the Ask Jeeves settings. Click the "Settings" tab in the top right of the homepage screen.

3. Access AskEraser by clicking on the "AskEraser" entry on the left of the settings screen.

4. Click the "Turn On AskEraser" button to erase the search history of Ask Jeeves.

Tips & Warnings

• Users in other countries will have a different URL for the Ask Jeeves main page.

• Turning on AskEraser will also turn off personalized search settings like filters.
