Instructions

    • 1

Place a thermocouple in the center of the oven. Face it towards the oven door so that you can take readings while the oven remains closed.

    • 2

Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Wait approximately 30 minutes to allow for the oven to preheat. Write down the temperature after the oven has finished preheating. Dave's Repair website recommends running two or three cycles and recording the temperature for each time. Add the temperatures together and divide by two. The sum will be the temperature you will use for calibration.

    • 3

Set your electric oven to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Hold down the "Bake" button for approximately ten to twenty seconds to enter the oven's calibration mode.

    • 4

Use arrow keys to change the oven temperature in 5 degree increments. For instance, if your oven cooked at an average of 345 degrees, you'll calibrate it five degrees hotter. You can usually change within 35 degrees of the temperature displayed.

Press the "Off" button once you have calibrated the electric oven. You can now resume normal operation.
