How to Locate a Canon Service Center

How to Locate a Canon Service Center thumbnail
Canon service centers may be more expensive than a neighborhood repair shop.

Using a Canon service center rather than a neighborhood repair outfit may be more expensive, but you will be provided with factory-warrantied repairs, free in-warranty repair and a guarantee that your repair or service will be done with original Canon parts. Canon's website includes the Canon Service Locations and contact information for those centers. Finding a location can be accomplished by following a few simple steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit the Canon Global website and choose the territory in which you are located. For example, U.S. residents would choose "Americas" and then select "Canon USA."

    • 2

Click on "Support/Drivers" on the following web page and then choose the product category, for example, "Consumer & Home Office."

    • 3

Choose the Product Family, such as "Digital Compact Cameras" or "Camcorders." Select the Product Series, such as "PowerShot A Series," and then choose the model. There is an image of the device in this area too, so you can identify it by its appearance as well as the model number. Choose "Service & Support" and scroll down through the model's page. Click on the "Find a Service Location" link, which is located at the bottom of the page.

    • 4

Enter a location on the resulting page. For example, U.S. residents should enter a zip code or city and state, and the listing will appear. Other territories may use the expression "Postal Code" or similar. If the database is unavailable, call Canon during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to midnight EST; Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., excluding holidays).

Determine the closest service center to your location. If it's feasible, bring your product directly to the center. If the closest center is too far away, you may be able to mail in your product for repair. Check the service center listing on the Canon website or call Canon directly to learn about mail-in options.

Tips & Warnings

  • Because of gray market issues related to Canon electronics, it is likely Canon will only provide certain types of service in the territory in which the electronic device was sold. In those cases, you may need to use a local repair shop.
