How Do You Become an Active Mary Kay Consultant Again?

In order to qualify for Mary Kay prizes and receive the 50 percent discount on product purchases, a beauty consultant needs to be in "active" status. Active consultants receive other benefits like quarterly magazines and company literature. When you make your initial inventory purchase, you become "active" and remain in this status for three months. After that, consultants must order $200 in wholesale goods every three months to maintain the "active" status. Consultants may choose to become "active" again up to a year after their last order.

Instructions

1. Call Mary Kay Headquarters at 1-800-MARY KAY. Tell the operator you wish to inquire about your consultant status. Give the operator your Mary Kay Consultant Number. This number is on your initial contract and paperwork.

2. Confirm that you are inactive and ask how long you have to place an order before your number is no longer valid. Write this date down.

3. Call customers and ask for product orders. Tell the customers you plan to place an order immediately. Arrange for payment of the products. Do not forget to add sales tax to the order as you will be charged this by the company.

4. Visit the Mary Kay InTouch website and place your order. Use the online catalog to select the products and product quantities you wish to purchase.

5. Use your credit or debit card to place your order online. Print the order receipt for your records. Go to the Mary Kay InTouch home page and click on your status located at the top of the page. You will see your status has changed from inactive to active.

Tips & Warnings

• If you have waited too long to place your order you will have to purchase another consultant number. The cost is $30 plus tax.
