DIY Party Tent
A festive and useful party tent can be made from a cotton bedspread. Look for colorful used bedspreads at thrift shops that match your party theme colors for a coordinated and inexpensive tent that packs a big "wow" factor. The tent, secured to the house for stability, will keep the buffet table protected from sun or rain, while adding color and charm to the festivities. To create an extra-large tent, use two or three bedspread tents, constructed next to each other. Does this Spark an idea?

2
Make two grommet holes on the opposite edge of the bedspread, at the corners, 1-inch from the edges.
-
-
3
Attach three screw eyes to the side of the house, corresponding to the bedspread grommet holes.
-
4
Hammer the nails through the bamboo poles, 1-inch from the top of the poles, to create dowels, which will keep the poles from sliding through the grommet holes.

5
Attach the bedspread to the house, hooking the screw eyes in the grommet holes.
-
6
Position the bamboo poles in the bedspread opposite edge grommet holes. Attach two 8-foot lengths of rope to the tops of each bamboo pole. Push the tent stakes into the ground 1-foot from the bottoms of the bamboo poles. Tie the ropes to the stakes to secure the poles.
