How to Load BlackBerry Messenger on the 8700

You can stay connected with friends using BlackBerry Messenger.

Loading BlackBerry Messenger on your BlackBerry 8700 makes it easy to chat with friends instantly. BlackBerry Messenger is an instant messaging application that is exclusive to the BlackBerry line. You can send and receive messages, upload files and choose your own display picture. BlackBerry Messenger also alerts you when a message is received from a contact. BlackBerry Messenger is a free application that is available through BlackBerry App World.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" key on the BlackBerry 8700, then select "BlackBerry App World."

2. Select the "Search" function in "BlackBerry App World." The search icon is a magnifying glass.

3. Enter "BlackBerry Messenger" in the search field, then click the trackball.

4. Scroll down to "BlackBerry Messenger" in the search results, then click the trackball. Click "Download."

5. Enter your BlackBerry ID, then click "Login." Wait for the download to complete to exit BlackBerry App World.

6. Press the "Menu" key, then select "Instant Messaging." Select "BlackBerry Messenger" to open the application.
