How to Update Roaming on Sprint

Updating roaming on a Sprint phone may resolve wireless Web issues.

Performing a periodic roaming, or PRL, update helps to improve your phone's signal on and off the Sprint network. PRL is the preferred roaming list for the Sprint network. It is responsible for ensuring that your phone is connecting to the best network available in the area you are in. Updating the roaming also helps to decrease the number of dropped calls. Updates are performed on the phone over-the-air. Depending on the model of your Sprint phone, the steps may vary.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" key on your phone's home screen. Select "Tools." Select "Update Phone" and then "Update PRL." Press the "Menu/OK" key to confirm that you want to perform the update.

2. Tap the green "Phone" icon. Open the "Applications" menu. Tap "Preferences." Tap "Update PRL" and wait for the update to complete.

3. Touch "Settings" on your phone's home screen, then select "Settings." Select "Update PRL" and wait for the phone to check for updates. Touch "OK" if updates are available to complete the process.
