How to Troubleshoot KitchenAid Superba

The Superba line of dishwashers from KitchenAid includes a patented set of spray jets located in the back of the dishwasher that blast water at the dishes to remove food debris. The dishwashers also offer various loading options for an array of different-sized dishes. KitchenAid Superba dishwashers should only be installed by a professional or someone with plumbing experience. Once installed, troubleshooting problems with the dishwasher may resolve any potential issues.

Things You'll Need

  • Water supply
  • Power supply
  • Vinegar
  • Glass container
  • Ensure the door is firmly shut and latched and the power to the unit is connected if the dishwasher doesn't run. Press the "Start/Resume" button to begin a wash cycle.

  • Check that large dishes, such as cookie sheets or pots, are not blocking the detergent tablet or the water jets if the dishes do not seem to be clean after a wash cycle.

  • Ensure the knockout plug is removed from the garbage disposal if the dishwasher is connected to the disposal and water remains in the washer tub. Check that the drain hose is not kinked.

  • Set the water heater to 120 degrees Fahrenheit if the dishwasher seems to run excessively long. Colder water takes longer to heat. Run hot water through the faucet before running the dishwasher to warm the water.

  • Place 2 cups of vinegar in an upright glass measuring cup in the lower dishwasher rack. Begin a normal cycle with the "Heated Dry" option turned off.
