How to Remove Beaters From a Kitchten Aid Artisan Mixer


A mainstay in the kitchens of novice and experienced chefs alike, the KitchenAid Artisan Mixer features a baby-blue design, tilting head, 5-quart stainless steel bowl and three types of beaters for mixing everything from cake batter to bread dough. Removing the the Artisan Mixer's beaters, which include a wire whip, flat beater and dough hook, is an easy task, but care should be taken during removal.   • Adjust the Artisan Mixer's speed control knob to the "off" position. The control knob is located on the motor head of the mixer. Unplug the mixer from the wall outlet.

  • Press the motor head locking lever, which is on the motor head, into the "unlock" position. Tilt the Artisan Mixer's motor head back with both hands.

  • Push the beater upward on the beater shaft, pressing into the motor head as far as it will go. Twist the beater to the left to unlock. Pull beater out of the motor head.

  • Set the beater aside. Tilt the motor head down to the original position. Press the motor head locking lever, located on the motor head, into the "lock" position.
