How to Identify Car Emblems

Knowing your car emblems helps to quickly identify car brands and makes.

For car enthusiasts, being able to identify car brands and makes is an essential skill. Knowing your car emblems (and automotive company logos) can really simplify and speed up the identifying process. This can get tricky, however, if you run into less recognizable car emblems. Fortunately, there are a few steps you can take and many resources available that can make it easier for you to quickly and accurately identify these mysterious car emblems.

• Car emblems list or photo gallery (print or online)

Instructions

1. Check to see if the manufacturer's name is abbreviated or otherwise incorporated into the emblem. For example, the emblem for Fiat cars is simply Fiat spelled out, and Bentley car emblems include the letter B.

2. Determine if it's a rare emblem. If the emblem is totally new to you, chances are it's not a car make that's commonly driven or seen before. You can then consult a vintage or rare car company logo guide, list or photo gallery to identify the emblem.

3. Make note of the emblem's characteristics. Does it use a symbol, animal or letter? Doing this helps ensure that you won't forget any relevant details and will be able to identify the emblem by referencing a logo guide.
