The engine air filter in the Honda Pilot traps dirt and debris to prevent it from entering the engine. The engine relies on a steady supply of clean air in order to function properly. Honda recommends replacing the engine air filter at least once every 30,000 miles. Check the filter every time the engine oil is changed or other routine maintenance performed and replace it if it's dirty. The procedure for replacing the filter is similar for all model years of the Pilot. These instructions apply specifically to the 2010 model.
