How to Fix Internet Explorer When the Tabbed Browsing Is Not Working

If the tabbed-browsing feature is not working in Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser, the feature is currently disabled. Fortunately, re-enabling the tabbed-browsing feature is a simple fix for the problem. When the feature is disabled, you may not have the option to open a link in a new tab, or it may display a blank page. If enabling tabbed browsing does not fix the problem, uninstall Internet Explorer and then re-install it.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Internet Explorer and click on the "Tools" button. Verify that you are on the "General" tab of the dialog box. If not, click on "General."

    • 2

Click on "Settings" in the "Tabs" section. This section is near the bottom of the dialog box.

    • 3

Click on the box next to "Enable Tabbed Browsing." You'll see a check mark appear next to the selection.

    • 4

Click on "Ok" in the "Tabs" window, and then click on "Apply" in the options box. Close the options box.
