How to Fill a Jeep Axle

Maintaining proper gear oil in your Jeep differential is important for its axle life. Gear oil coats and cools the gears located inside the axle and the differential. 75W90 gear oil is recommended for Jeep axles. Jeep supplied several different types of axles in its vehicles. The most common are the Dana 44, Dana 35 and the Dana 30. These axles are filled in a similar way and require the same gear oil for each application.
