How to Download a Stock Price History
When a company wants to be listed on an exchange for the first time, the process they go through is called an initial public offering, or IPO. Once they go public, the exchange will track their price history, as will many other financial resource companies. Under the efficient market hypothesis, there are three different forms of market efficiency, each claiming different things influence current stock price. The semi-strong and strong forms take into account variables other than the historical stock prices and history of a company. However, the weak form of market efficiency relies totally on historical data.
