How to Watch TV on Windows Media Player
Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player allow you to watch television on your computer. Using Windows Media Center you can watch live television, pause shows, or record them onto your PC. In Windows Media Player you can play and watch recorded television shows. To watch live television on your computer, you will need to purchase a TV tuner, which connects to your computer through an external USB port or an internal expansion slot. You also need to have either a cable TV jack or a TV antenna to get a television signal.

Open Windows Media Center from the "All Programs" list.

Locate "TV" and click on it.

Select "Guide" from the Windows Media Center home screen to scroll through a list of shows and chose a TV show that is on or select "Live TV".

Click on the "Pause" icon to temporarily pause the TV show.

Click on the round red icon to record the TV show. To get the playback controls to appear, move the cursor slowly back and forth along the bottom of the screen.

Open Windows Media Player.

Click on "Recorded TV". The link is located in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

Chose the show you want to watch from the folder that opens. Highlight the icon and click on it.

Use the play back controls that appear on the bottom of the screen to pause, rewind or fast-forward the recorded show.
