How to Configure One Contact for Plain Text in Outlook 2007

By default, Outlook sends emails formatted in HTML, the same language used to code Web pages. The HTML format allows you to color and stylize your emails, as well as add pictures, links and everything else HTML supports. Some of your contacts, however, may be using email clients that do not render the HTML code properly, or they may simply prefer plain text. Outlook 2007 allows you to set emails to a specific contact to be in plain text rather than HTML.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Contacts folder in Outlook. Double-click the contact you want to change.

    • 2

      Double-click the contact's email address.

    • 3

Select "Send plain text only" in the "Internet Format" box. Press "OK."
