How to Call a VoIP Number on Skype

Skype is a computer program that allows users to make phone calls all over the world for free. It uses Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, a technology that allows these calls to take place over the Internet. To make a VoIP call on Skype, all you need to do is follow a few easy steps.

Instructions

1. Open Skype.

2. Click "Contacts" on the top of the window. This will show a list of contacts you've added to your friends list. They all have phone numbers associated with them that are either Skype, landlines or cell phones.

3. Locate and click on the name of the person you want to call. This will highlight the name.

4. Click "Call" on the right side of the window. The call will be initiated. To end the call, click "End Call."

Tips & Warnings

• If you are calling a land line or cell phone, you will encounter additional fees. Skype-to-Skype calls are free.
