How to Use a HP TC1000 Touchscreen
The HP TC1000 is a model of tablet computer made by Hewlett-Packard. The TC1000 uses a pen-like device, known as a stylus, to receive input from the user instead of using a keyboard and mouse as with a traditional computer. Learning to use the touchscreen functions of the TC1000 and the stylus is simple and straightforward. You'll be able to use the touchscreen proficiently in a matter of a few minutes.

Hold the stylus as you would a normal pen. Notice there is a button built into the shaft of the pen. This is used for replicating the right-click function of a regular computer. The mouse will follow the tip of the stylus when it is close to the screen.

Practice clicking using the stylus. To click an item, simply tap the screen of the TC1000 with the tip of the stylus; double-click by tapping the screen twice in quick succession.

Display any menus related to an on-screen item by holding the pointer over the icon.

Write with the pen, when using certain applications, as you would a normal pen on the surface of the TC1000.

Locate the buttons on the front of the TC1000. From left to right they are: "Tablet PC Input Panel Launch," "Journal Launch Button" and "Rotate Button." "Tablet PC Input Panel Launch" launches an on-screen keyboard and writing pad. Use the keyboard to type in text. "Journal Launch Button" launches the Journal feature for writing via the stylus, while "Rotate" turns the tablets display from portrait to landscape and back.

Locate the buttons down the side of the TC1000. From top to bottom they are: "Email," "Q Menu," "Tab," "Windows Security," "Esc" and "Jog." "Email" launches the default email application, "Q Menu" opens the device's Q Menu, "Tab" functions as on regular computer. "Windows Security" replicates the "Ctrl", "Alt", "Del" commands of a regular computer, "Esc" functions as on a regular computer, while the "Jog" lever scrolls the TC1000's picture up and down.
