How to Set Up Your Cell Phone to Get Better Reception
Due to daily use and common wear and tear, a cell phone antenna can often get damaged. The damage can be fixed, however, with either some household items or an inexpensive antenna booster.

1
Remove the vinyl cover from the insulated copper wire about an inch from the tip. This will be the end that you will insert into your external antenna port.
-
2
Wind the copper wiring around the ball point pen, starting from the middle, about five times. Then remove the ball point pen. This will leave you with a spiral of copper wiring. This will increase the ability for it to receive transmissions.

3
Remove the rubber cover of your cell phone's antenna port, and insert your antenna. If there is no antenna slot, place the stripped part of your antenna near the top of your phone. Secure it in place using electrical tape.

Remove the cover of your phone and detach the battery. Clean the battery compartment using a clean dry cloth. Dust particles can accumulate in the area even if you don't remove the cell phone cover often.
-
5
Put the antenna booster into the back of the phone, placing the "up" side toward the antenna.
-
6
Attach the battery back to your phone. There should be an increase in your signal reception of one to two bars.
