      Double-click the Writer application to launch. It is located in the same folder as the rest of the OpenOffice suite.

      Click the "File" menu and select "Open..." to open an existing HTML document. Select the document that you wish to edit and click "Open."

      Click the "View" menu and select "HTML Source" to view the HTML code.

      Edit the HTML code and press the "CTRL" and "S" keys simultaneously to save any changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click the "File" menu and click "Save as..." to save an existing non-HTML Writer document as an HTML file. Choose HTML from the drop-down menu.

  • You can now open this file in Writer as an HTML file and edit its source code by following the above steps.

  • Built-in HTML functions sometimes do not display properly in web browsers. Make sure to only edit the raw HTML code if you wish to avoid these issues.
