How to Create Scully and Mulder Costumes

You'll feel ready to take on anything ' aliens, secret government plots, trick-or-treaters ' in these cool "X Files" costumes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• 2 Black Trench Coats
• Dark Clothes
• Spray-on Hair Colors
• 2 Clip-on Identification Cards
• 2 Flashlights

1. Create FBI badges on your computer. Each badge should say "FBI" in large, dark-blue capital letters across the top. Below that, type "Special Agent" and leave room underneath for your signature.

2. Import head shots of yourselves into the documents, below the signature lines.

3. Enter your ID numbers below the pictures. Scully's ID is JTT0331613. Mulder's is JTT047101111.

4. Print out the FBI badges on your printer.

5. Cut them out and slide them into your clip-on badges.

6. Apply orange spray-on hair color if you're going as Scully.

7. Put on dark clothing and trench coats.

8. Clip the badges to the lapels of your trench coats.

9. Practice knocking on doors and yelling, "Open up, FBI!"

Tips & Warnings

• If you have longer hair than Scully, you can pull it back into a very loose ponytail so that it looks bobbed; then stick the ponytail down the back of your shirt.
• You can find clip-on ID badges at just about any office supply store.

on 11/22/2005 Dress up as Mulder and Scully, walk around with a serious look on your face, flash your badge and demand that people give you all of their candy because you're following up a lead that some alien life form has injected its larvae into everything from Snickers to Swedish fish candy. It's never worked for me, but you might have better luck. The problem in my neighborhood is that everyone knows me and my boyfriend, and therefore do not believe that we are actually FBI agents.

on 11/22/2005 I've been Scully and my boyfriend Mulder for two years. The cell phones are essential to call each other. "Mulder" he answers, "Scully" from her's. And the gold cross. And she wear high-heeled boots a lot with her pantsuits. And natural colored makeup.

on 11/22/2005 If you are gonna be Mulder and Scully with a friend, make sure you have some Mulderisms and Scullyisms down for the act. Remember, it takes two to make it look good!
