How to Text a Vote for "American Idol"
The popular "American Idol" TV show debuted in 2002. The show features singers who compete to win a talent competition whose winner is determined by the viewing audience. Many winners have established successful musical careers. Viewers can vote for their favorite contestant by calling or texting. The process of texting a vote for a contestant is relatively simple and quick to perform.

Watch the show when it airs. It is carried by the FOX network.

Note contestants' four-digit codes during their performances.

Open a new text message on your phone. You must have AT&T Mobility service to vote in this manner.

Enter the four-digit code of a contestant in the "To" box.

Type the word "VOTE" in the body of the message.

Press the "Send" button.

Tips & Warnings
Wait until the show is over to text. Texts and phone calls are not received during the show. Votes are accepted for two hours after the show.
If you are not a subscriber to AT&T Mobility, you cannot text your vote. In this case, you must call the toll-free number that is associated with a performer to vote for him or her.
