Say good bye to losing your place when you reopen multiple page documents with Adobe Reader.

If you have ever used Adobe Reader for viewing a multiple page document, and then reopened that same document only to find yourself back at page one when you really wanted to be at your last page viewed, you probably thought there must be a way to bookmark your place. If so, you were right--such an option is already built into Adobe Reader, and it's very easy to use.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch the Adobe Reader application.

    • 2

Click "Adobe Reader," then "Preferences" in the menu bar if you're using a Mac. A new box entitled "Preferences" will open.

If you're using a PC, click "Edit," then "Preferences" from the menu bar to open the "Preferences" box.

    • 3

Click on "Documents" in the left column, entitled "Categories."

    • 4

Check mark the box for "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" in the section entitled "Open Settings." Click the "OK" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are using Adobe Reader to read eBooks on a laptop or desktop, it may also prove helpful to set Adobe Reader to show two pages side by side (like a printed book). To do this: repeat steps 1 and 2; then, in "Categories," select "Page Display." Under "Default Layout and Zoom," select either "Two-Up" or "Two-Up Continuous."
