How to Make Paper 6 Point Snowflakes

Snowflakes are one of winter's whimsical beauties. Each snowflake, supposedly, is completely different from any snowflakes before or after it. Make your own six-point snowflakes to hang from your ceiling as part of your winter decorations with just a sheet of paper. Get together with friends and enjoy this craft while you sip on hot cocoa and listen to seasonal songs.

Instructions

    • 1

Fold the square of paper in half diagonally to form a triangle.

    • 2

      Fold the triangle in half.

    • 3

Fold the new triangle into thirds by folding the right side over slightly past the middle and then repeat with the left side. You may need to attempt this a couple times before getting the thirds even.

    • 4

Cut the top of the folded piece, where the two pieces are, off at an angle (direction doesn't matter), so that all layers of the folded piece are even along the top edge.

    • 5

Cut small notches out of the folded piece's left and right edges to make your snowflake as one-of-a-kind as the real ones.

    • 6

Unfold the piece of paper to reveal your six-point paper snowflake.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a little shimmer to your flakes with spray adhesive and fine craft glitter.
