How to Use Benzoyl Peroxide With Glycolic Acid

Benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid are organic and safe to use to treat acne.

While both materials are crystalline in form, glycolic acid is translucent and found in sugar cane and beets, while benzoyl peroxide is a compound from the organic peroxide group and is opaque white. Both compounds are used as natural treatments for acne. An efficient way to benefit from the use of benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid is to incorporate them into a daily regime.

Things You'll Need

• Mild facial cleanser
• Towel
• Glycolic acid toner
• Cotton balls
• Benzoyl peroxide wash

Instructions

1. Wash your face in the morning with a mild facial cleanser and pat your skin dry with a towel.

2. Saturate a cotton ball with glycolic acid toner and apply the toner to your nose. Use a freshly saturated cotton ball to apply the toner to each zone of your face: forehead, chin and cheeks.

3. Apply toner a second time to oily or problematic areas that are prone to breakouts. Let the toner dry before applying makeup or moisturizer.

4. At night, wash your face with the facial cleanser and pat dry with a towel. Your can leave your face can slightly damp, just not dripping wet.

5. Apply the benzoyl peroxide wash to your face using cotton balls, one for each zone. Use extra wash on the same trouble areas you treated in the morning.

6. Let the peroxide wash dry, and leave it on your skin overnight. Wash it off thoroughly in the morning, right before you apply the glycolic acid toner.

Tips & Warnings

• Keep your products in the fridge for a refreshing, soothing facial treatment each time you use them.

• Do not use the products at the same time as you may experience peeling, redness or swelling.
