How to Change Voicemail Going to Email on Yahoo Messenger

Yahoo! Instant Messenger includes a feature that allows people on your contact list to place a call to you through the instant messenger. If you are not at your computer, callers can leave you a voicemail, which is converted to an MP3 and delivered to you via email. If you have changed your email address, you will need to update the address associated with your Yahoo! voicemail or you won't be able to receive messages.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Yahoo! Messenger and log in with your screen name and password.

    • 2

Click "Contacts" in the file menu at the top of the messenger window. Select "Call History."

    • 3

Click "Change" at the bottom of the dialog box.

    • 4

Click "Add New Email Address." Your Yahoo! Account information will be loaded in a browser window. Depending on your Yahoo! Messenger settings, you may need to sign in again.

    • 5

Click "Add Another." Enter the email address you wish to use for voicemail delivery and click "Save."

    • 6

Log in to the email address you just added to your Yahoo! account and click on the verification email. Click the confirmation link contained in the email to verify your email address. The change will be effective immediately, and new voicemails will be forwarded to the updated email address.
