How to Text on a TracFone
TracFone offers customers prepaid, contract-free wireless options. Your TracFone can send and receive text messages. Typing out a quick message is a convenient way of communicating when voice conversation isn't an option. Using the text messaging feature is relatively easy and varies slightly by phone model. It's important to note that both sent and received texts will deduct from your airtime.

Choose "Compose" or "Create New" to type out a new message. Use your phone's keypad to enter in letters. If your phone does not have a full keypad, you will need to tap each key multiple times until the desired letter appears. (For example, the "1" key is labeled "A, B, C". To type a "C", you would need to press the "1" key rapidly three times.)

4
Press "OK" to confirm your typed message. Use your phone's number pad to type in the ten-digit phone number (preceded by a "1" if necessary for long distance) of the recipient. Highlight and select "Send".

5
Read a received text message by opening the main menu, scrolling to the "Messages" option and selecting "Inbox" or "New". Highlight the unopened message and press "OK" to open it.
