How to Find Someone on Blogspot

Looking for someone.

Blogspot is the host service for Blogger---one of Google's many tools. Blogger is a place or platform where individuals and groups create blogs or online journals. If you want to find someone on Blogspot, you can use the Google search engine.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• Web browser

Instructions

1. 

   Searching the Internet

   Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari, and type google.com in the address bar.

2. Locate the options bar above the search box on the Google search page. Click "more." A drop down box will open.

3. Choose "blogs" in the drop down box. Your Google search will now be limited to blogs.

4. Type the name of the person with quotation marks around the name and +blogspot. Here is an example: "John Smith" +blogspot.

5. 

   Click the search button.

   Click "search." The results will include all blogs published by blogspot in which the person's name appears, whether the person writes the blog or his name appears in the blog.

Tips & Warnings

• If you do not include the words "blogspot" in your search criteria, the Google blog search engine looks for the name in all blogs published on the web.

• If you do not put the person's first and last name in quotation marks, the results will include every blog with either of these names. For instance, with John Smith, you would get every blog written by or naming John as well as every blog that includes the name Smith.
