How to Import AIFF or WAV Into an iPod

ITunes and iPods support a wide array of digital media formats, including AIFF and WAV files. Transfer AIFFs and WAVs from your iTunes library to your iPod just as you would any other audio file. If you have AIFF or WAV files on your computer that are not in your iTunes library, import them using the iTunes' "Add to Library" feature. This will then allow you to transfer the files to your iPod device.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch iTunes.

    • 2

Import the AIFF or WAV file into your iTunes library, if necessary. Open the "File" menu and click "Add to Library." Browse the file you want to add, and click it once. Then click the "Choose" button. ITunes will import the track into your library.

    • 3

Open the "File" menu and click "New Playlist."

    • 4

Name your new playlist, then press the "Enter" button on your keyboard.

    • 5

Click the "Music" tab, then browse your library for the AIFF or WAV files you want to add to your iPod.

    • 6

Drag the files into the new playlist.

    • 7

Connect your iPod to your computer using the iPod USB cable that came with the device. If iTunes tries to sync automatically, click the "X" in the iTunes track display.

    • 8

Click your iPod's name in the "Devices" section.

    • 9

      Click the "Music" tab.

    • 10

Click the check mark box next to the new playlist you created.

    • 11

Click the "Sync" button to import the playlist to your iPod.
